One of my wardrobe staples, for both winter and summer, is my pink oversized blazer. It is the perfect piece to brighten up your winter wardrobe and the perfect cover up for chilly summer evenings. Here I have used it to brighten up my all black winter look. I have paired it with a plaid shirt to add some print, and accessorized with a silver chain bag.

#LookPost Autumn Chill

I have returned back to South Africa from London, just in time to catch my second consecutive winter. As much as I am craving sunshine and warmth, at least I am fully prepared (fashion-wise) for all types of cold.

Since I have been back, I have been very busy in the sewing room, sewing my new Jemimah Autumn/ Winter 2014 range for Babette Clothing which has been largely inspired by my time in London. (See my Facebook page for pictures of the new range). But I have also spared some time to sew a few things for myself. After spotting an AMAZING oversized navy plaid coat in the Topshop flagship store in London, I was inspired to make one for myself. It was the perfect display of the oversized/ masculine trend with the added trendy plaid print. Another trend that I am now seeing in South African stores is the fluffy knit trend. Cotton On and Mr Price are selling all kinds of fluffy knits: cropped, coloured, polo-necked, cardigans... So I also decided to design and sew my own fluffy knit, so to have something different from the masses.

To beat the Autumn chill, I paired both my new creations together with a beanie and high-waisted skinny jeans. I added some chunky jewellery and silver socks for some sparkle.

#LookPost Androgynous Embellishment

Recently I helped a friend out for a Free People inspired look book shoot. It was such fun and I loved all the looks I was styled in. One look in particular was very reminiscent of my androgynous style. I wore an embellished blazer paired with boyfriend jeans and ankle boots. Although a very simple look with jeans and a T-shirt, the embellished blazer added another dimension and some glamour.

For a day off from university, I keep my style very casual with my Converse sneakers and a loose fitting breton. I added my peplum shorts and sunglasses for a 'touch of chic' to the outfit.

#LookPost Sports Luxe

I attended a trend show at London Fashion Weekend on Sunday at Somerset House, and decided to wear a very prominent trend seen on the runway at fashion week last weekend: sports wear. I went with a baseball theme, and wore high waisted white trousers with a black stripe down the leg, and a baseball cap. I paired these sporty items with a cropped denim top, a black fluffy cardigan and a lot of gold jewellery.

#LookPost Check It Out

This look was very animated and fun. I paired my Mickey Mouse Tee with an oversized red and blue plaid coat, and frilly polka dot socks. I am in love with this plaid coat. The masculine style and the large plaid print are very similar to Stella McCartney's coats that she sent down the runway for the Autumn Winter 2013 show. 

I love an oversized manly coat, especially one in a coloured print as this adds some colour and pattern to your winter wardrobe. The plaid print has also been updated, since it is larger than usual; this makes it more modern. I styled this look in an androgynous casual way: the buckled monks and masculine coat nod towards menswear while the animated Tee is very casual.

#LookPost Black & Gold

I am a little obsessed with chunky gold jewellery at the moment. And pairing it with anything black just makes it stand out even more. As well as adding chunky gold jewellery to this look, I also paired two prints which usually clash: leopard print and geometric monochrome print. They work well together as both prints have some black in them, and the accessories tie them together. I wore a cropped tee and cuffed up my trousers to expose some skin; this breaks up the print so to not overwhelm me.

#Lookpost In the Pink

Since the final days of Winter are slowly coming along, and Spring is edging near, my wardrobe is getting a bit of colour thrown into it. I love the shades of pink, and it's a big Spring trend, especially the pink jacket. I paired my oversized pink jacket with boyfriend jeans and a leather baseball cap, making my look very androgynous. My pointed flats add a slight feminine touch.
