#LookPost Spring Pinks

Since Spring has finally come, fresh pink blooms are starting to appear on all the bare trees, inspiring me to add some pinks and pastels to my spring looks.  I paired my black midi with a pastel pink biker jacket over a grey cropped tee, and pink pointed flats. Although the colour palette of my outfit is very subdued and feminine, the zippers on the jacket and my geometric clutch add some edge and roughness to the look.

#Lookpost In the Pink

Since the final days of Winter are slowly coming along, and Spring is edging near, my wardrobe is getting a bit of colour thrown into it. I love the shades of pink, and it's a big Spring trend, especially the pink jacket. I paired my oversized pink jacket with boyfriend jeans and a leather baseball cap, making my look very androgynous. My pointed flats add a slight feminine touch.

#Trends The Pink Jacket

An item that I think is a definite must for your Spring wardrobe, is a pink jacket. Shades of pink was a popular trend for Autumn/ Winter '13/'14, but has carried through into Spring. Since Spring is the season of colour and still slightly chilly, a jacket or light coat in any shade of fresh pink will be a staple. Also, if your wardrobe is mainly black, white or very muted, a pink jacket is sure to freshen up any look.

Many designers featured their version of a pink jacket on the Spring/ Summer '14 runway shows. Even though Spring is a warmer season, a knee-length or a woolen or fur coat will still be greatly appreciated for those crisp Spring mornings.

I recently bought an oversized pink cacoon blazer from H&M, which I am absolutely in love with! It is just too perfect for Spring. I debuted it the other night, and wore it with a head-to-toe black outfit. I paired a black long sleeved cropped top with black pleated shorts, black tights and buckled cut out shoes. I chose simple accessories: lime green drop earrings and a gold hair cuff.

Here are some more pink coats, blazers and jackets that will be perfect for following this trend.

#TodayImWearing Pretty in Pink

Today I went on a little outing to Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town to take advantage of the great summer weather. I just could not get enough of all the pretty pink shades of the flowers; and they matched my outfit so perfectly.  For my look, I paired a pale pink pleated tank top with denim cut-offs and valentino-inspired flats. I added some edge with a studded black belt and chain bag.

Denim cut-offs - Cotton On
Studded black belt - Woolworths
Black pointed flats - Mr Price

Chain bag - River Island

My apricot manicure, accessorised with a Lovisa midi ring, finished off my summery look

Just so blooming beautiful, don't you think?

#BestDressed My Top 10 Looks at The Emmy's

I totally loved all the pretty blush tones, whites and deep pinks on the red carpet at the Emmy's. And of course, the ruffles, sheer and lace just topped of these looks.

Here are my Top 10 looks at the Emmy's this past weekend.

1. Malin Akerman in Marchesa // 2. Kate Mara in J. Mendel

3. Kerry Washington in Marchesa // 4. Claire Danes in Armani Prive

5. Julie Bowen in Zac Posen // 6. January Jones in Givenchy

7. Rose Byrne in Calvin Klein // 8. Laura Dern in Naeem Khan

9. Kaley Cuoco in Vera Wang // 10. Linda Cardellini in Donna Karen

My favourite has to be Rose Byrne. Love the shade of pink and she makes the cropped top look so elegant.

#LookOfTheDay Pretty in Pink

Today's Look of the Day follows the PINK trend that I blogged about earlier this week. Since this is a big trend of the runway, I decided to put an outfit together to show you how I would wear this trend.

I paired a pink cropped knit with pink skinny jeans and cream booties. Don't be scared to wear an outfit that is entirely one colour, as long as you keep it minimal and the accessories simple. Also, use different shades of the colour or like I did with this outfit, use a cropped top for a break between the top and bottoms. Add some edge with plum or raisin lipstick.

Pink cropped knit - Topshop
Pink skinny jeans - Only
Cluster pearl necklace - Adia Kibur at Shopbop
Cream booties - Sole Society
Chain and quilted bag - Forever 21
Tortoise sunglasses - Witchery
Plum lipstick - Smashbox (Plum Scene)

#Trends PINK!

A very clear trend spotted on the Autumn/ Winter 2013 runway shows was PINK.

This trend transformed from a hit on the runway, to common topic for magazine editorials.

Two magazines in particular did an editorial each, highlighting this "pink" trend, and in some shots, they used the same designer. This clearly shows which designers and which looks are the season's favourites!

Here are the two editorials from Vogue Japan and Vogue UK:

Bette Franke posed for the "Posing in Pink" editorial in Vogue Japan.

Cara Delevingne posed for the "Pink Lady" editorial in Vogue UK.

So this season's favourite "pink" outfits and designers (According to Vogue) are:

CHANEL

CELINE

MIU MIU

DIOR

PRADA

So now there's no excuse to add a little (or a lot??) of PINK into your wardrobe.
